GENDERNORMALITY

Gendernormality explores the notions of gender norms and identities. Deeply rooted in early 20thcentury theories, these notions urge individuals to conform to expected gender roles, behaviors and appearances. In an attempt to challenge these beliefs, this series portrays a variety of individuals who are not conforming to the established gender binary. Each image strives to show that identity is inherent to each individual. Essentially, the project aims to celebrate and empower diversity and invites the viewer to reconsider the current norms and beliefs.
